SMA’s belief is we have a fundamental responsibility to acknowledge the gifts we have and pay them forward. We do this by charitable donations; working with specific organizations whose work we care deeply about; and by pro-bono or reduced rate work with clients.
Shirley has spent the last 10 years providing leadership and coaching services to:
- The National Association of Certified Professional Midwives
- The National Association to Advance Black Birth
- Jennie Joseph, Commonsense Childbirth
Given her commitment to improving maternal and infant health, particularly for marginalized communities, SMA proactively supports Commonsense Childbirth, a non-profit organization founded in 1998 by Jennie Joseph. A % of our net profit goes towards Jennie Joseph’s work.
